Go Ape at Whinlatter Forest

If you are looking for something adventurous and exciting, Keswick Climbing Wall & Outdoor Activity Centre is the place to be. The climbing centre has over 40 tree top ropes, with activities available such as Ghyll Scrambling, Canoeing, Archery and High Ropes. The Centre also offers development courses for inexperienced climbers.

Bowes Museum
A magnificent French Château created in the late 19th century by John and Joséphine Bowes, housing collections of European fine and decorative arts. The permanent collections comprise works by artists such as Canaletto, El Greco, Courbet and Turner, and contain one of Britain’s most extensive collections of ceramics, including the Sèvres Porcelain. The iconic Silver Swan, an 18th century musical automaton, plays every day at 2.00pm.

Tullie House Museum
The Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery is located in Carlisle, a short drive away from the Whitbarrow Resort. The building itself is listed as grade 1 and displays a mixture of History, Nature and Art. The Museum was transferred to a Trust in 2011 and is now an independent organisation. Collections and galleries include costumes and textiles, wildlife records, and local historical archives.
