is the link between
owners and Seasons management. Its purpose is to serve as a
conduit through which
Seasons members can raise any matters of interest or concern
with Seasons management and also to act as a sounding board
for Seasons’ forward plans and future developments.
The committee meets quarterly with Seasons management and currently
comprises four owner members, namely Chris Roberts (Chairman), Jeff Elder (who deals with all member correspondence), John Clegg (Secretary) and Beth Marshall. Committee
positions are reviewed annually.
SOCC is glad to hear from members on any issues or with suggestions
(please note that where members have any specific complaint, for
example, regarding resorts
or facilities, they should be directed in the first instance to Membership Services
at Seasons).

Seasons Owners Consultative Committee (SOCC) meets quarterly
with Seasons management and is in ongoing contact on any matters arising
between
those meetings by email or telephone. There are formal agendas for
meetings; regular agenda items include member issues (arising mainly
from contacts from members to SOCC), resort developments (including
proposed and in-progress refurbishments, bar/restaurant arrangements,
and possible new resorts), resort administration issues, and bookings
arrangements.
Annually, the committee reviews the proposed management fees for the
following year. This invariably produces a vigorous debate! Committee
members, as owners ourselves, aim to strike a balance between what
fee increase owners might vote for (such as zero!), and the desirable
maintenance/improvement of quality standards at Seasons resorts. In
this context, the company provides SOCC with the relevant financial
information so that we can consider the income to be raised from fees
in relation to the ongoing costs of resort maintenance as well as desirable
improvements. SOCC has frequently (and successfully) influenced the
company to reduce its preferred level of fee increase and to pursue
possible cost savings and efficiency measures so as to offset the inexorable
onward march of resort running costs.
SOCC is free to raise any matters of interest or concern to members
at meetings with company management. Equally, we are glad to give advice
to members on any aspects of their membership, use of their weeks,
or general timeshare enquiries. In the latter context, we would urge
members to contact SOCC if they receive unsolicited approaches from
companies claiming they will buy/sell members’ weeks at apparently
attractive prices. These are invariably scams, and there have been
some regrettable cases of members being caught up in these.
We do deal with member complaints (though thankfully they are relatively
few); however, we do expect members to have addressed any complaints
to the company in the first instance before, or as well as, referring
them to SOCC (see Complaints Procedure on the Seasons website).
