SEASONS HOLIDAYS NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2009
THANKS TO SEASONS STAFF
As you know, we frequently have members writing to commend one or more members of Seasons staff for exceptional service during their holiday. Well, it’s certainly not hard to pick out who is the apple of the eyes of Dai and Gill James of Cardiff!
‘We recently indulged ourselves in a two week Seasons holiday – Friday to Friday at Clowance, a night at home in Cardiff and then Saturday to Saturday in Laugharne.
The fact that we had the best two weeks weather since May was besides the point – we had a lovely holiday – made all the more enjoyable by wonderful holiday accommodation, helpful and happy staff on both sites and magnificent scenery. You can’t beat the views at Laugharne – it has always been our favourite.

'NEW LOOK' AT BRUNSTON CASTLE

The big news from Brunston Castle is that their refurbishment programme is well under way. They have started working on the houses and the ‘new look’ includes new kitchens, bathrooms, tiling, carpets, furniture, carpets and all paintwork. In order to minimise any disturbance to guests staying over the festive period, a certain number of units will be completed before Christmas, followed by the remainder in January, after the holiday period has ended.
WONDERFUL WEEK AT BRUNSTON CASTLE

The following letter was sent by Anne and John Gibson of Alwoodley, Leeds and once again, it is full of praise for individual Seasons staff members, who all went out of their way to ensure that our guests had the best possible time!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: BRUNSTON CASTLE
Will members planning to visit Brunston Castle please bear in mind that there are no telephones in the cottages at the resort. This is pointed out on the booking confirmation forms, but complaints are still occasionally received. Some mobile phones also have trouble getting a signal. However, there is an outside public coin-operated telephone in front of the Leisure Centre and internet access is available inside the Leisure Centre for the use of guests.
SCHOOL FUND-RAISING

Here’s another heart-warming story about Seasons staff raising funds for local good causes. In this case, it was for Brunston Castle’s nearby village primary school. Resort Manager Norma Docherty tells the story:
QUIET DAYS AND ROCKING EVENINGS!

Despite the fact that they only joined Seasons in June this year, Aileen and Billy Wilkie, of Turriff in Aberdeenshire, certainly sound as if they had a whale of a time during their stay on the Costa del Sol. They went on holiday with their guests, Aileen and George Wright.

BURN PARK RESCUED HORSES

As a lot of our long-term Seasons members are aware, Burn Park Resort Manager Gill Kaye and her daughter Samantha have for many years played a vital role in rescuing mistreated horses and ponies and bringing them back to health and a happy life. This has in turn given great joy to many of the visitors to the resort, young and old, and lots of the children will remember having rides over the years. Our story last month about Florence’s new foal prompted one member to send a donation to help care for the animals at Burn Park and we thought our readers would like to hear more about the background to the story.

CLUB TAHITI - IT'S ALL TRUE!

It’s always great to hear from Seasons members who have enjoyed their holidays so much that they make the effort to write and tell us. Susan and Keith Senior from Mirfield, West Yorkshire, sound as if they thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Lanzarote.
WEATHER-BEATEN WHITBARROW

The latest update from a very soggy Cumbria is nevertheless full of good news from Vaughan Kennedy, the stalwart General Manager.
‘The last two weeks or so have seen the spirits of even the most hardened Seasons members dampened somewhat, with the relentless and inordinate amount of rain that has fallen in Cumbria. No doubt you will have seen most of the news reports on television, with Workington, Cockermouth and Keswick severely affected.
LOVELY HOLIDAY AT WHITBARROW

Ann and Stan Roberts from Pontypridd found that they were in for some very pleasant surprises when they visited the Lake District after a long gap. How long is it since you visited?
SHORT BREAK AVAILABILITY
Reservations would like to remind all members that we still have good availability at most of the resorts for January and February 2010 for both short breaks and full weeks, so call Reservations today on 01994 426000 to book a well deserved break to recuperate from the Christmas festivities.
MAR DA LUZ - THE PLACE TO BE

This month, Denis Moon of Bridgend, Wales has waxed positively lyrical about Seasons’ latest resort on Portugal’s beautiful Algarve. Read on and you’ll not only find out why – you’ll be reaching for the phone to call Reservations on 01994 426000 to make your own booking!

YET ANOTHER SCAM STORY!
Many thanks as always to one of Seasons members for alerting us to yet another scam which sounds too good to be true! As always, we would urge any of our readers who receives any such offer which sounds over-generous to contact Membership Services on 01994 426000 immediately. They will advise you on any action to take. Above all, PLEASE agree to nothing on the telephone! The following is our member’s warning email and you will see what an expensive mistake it was:
‘I am a timeshare owner within the Seasons group. Yesterday I received an unsolicited call from a company saying that, as I had been a timeshare owner for 15 years, I was eligible for a two week holiday for only 300 pounds, in order to fill vacancies within the industry, due to recession. I fell for their scam and paid by credit card. But I immediately felt suspicious and called my credit card company. However, the transaction had already been processed by a company in Spain. I was advised by credit card company to phone the scam company and ask to cancel. I tried this but the company said I had no right to cancel, as they are exempt from any seven day cooling off period, due to them selling accommodation. The company trades as The Gift Company and are part of Beautiful Holidays. I want to warn other timeshare owners to beware!'
