SEASONS HOLIDAYS NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2009
BURN PARK'S NEW ARRIVAL

Isn’t it great to hear some good news for a change? This time it comes on four legs and is incredibly cute! Lise from Burn Park has reported that the resort’s beautiful grey mare has recently become a mum and she says that previous guests have been hoping for the new arrival whilst staying here and missed it, so they will be happy to hear the news.
‘There was an exciting start to the day for everyone at Burn Park on Saturday 3rd October. The long-awaited arrival of our new foal ‘Ghost’ finally came! We think approximately 4.30am, his experienced mother Florence successfully brought him into the world all by herself.'
SCOTTISH HOLIDAY A GREAT SUCCESS

Trevor and June Lloyd-Adams from Kempsey, Worcs had such a wonderful time at Brunston Castle earlier this summer that they are determined to go back next year.
‘It was our first trip to Brunston Castle, in fact our first holiday in Scotland for over 25 years, and we loved every minute of it.

£25 WINNING LETTER
WEDDING BELLS AT BRUNSTON

Popular resort manager Norma Docherty is well known for going out of her way to be helpful to guests, but she excelled herself when Christine & David Watson of Hockley, Essex, phoned and asked for her assistance. Christine explained that they were coming on holiday to Brunston but her daughter Emma had said she wanted to get married when she was there and had only given her a few months notice! That’s when Norma sent lots of wedding details, such as florist, hairdressers, golf course and so on. No wonder they received the following lovely thank you letter.
THANKS FOR HAVING US
Norma Docherty also sent us the following note, which was left in their cottage by Seasons members, the Macdonald family from Inverness, who stayed at Brunston Castle recently. They also left £5 for the communal tip pot, which Norma thought was great, as she says it’s not often that the housekeeping team get a mention.

ADELINA'S FUNDRAISING RUN

You don’t often hear much news from Seasons busy head office in Bristol, but this edition is different. Dispelling the belief that accounts people spend all their time just sitting down, here is the story of a very active member of the Bristol team, as told by Finance Manager, David Clarke.
'EASTENDERS' STAR LOVES MAR DA LUZ
We were delighted to welcome yet another celebrity visitor to a Seasons resort. We can report that not only did Brooke Kinsella, who played Kelly Taylor in EastEnders, visit Seasons new Algarve resort recently, but she and her family thoroughly enjoyed their holiday!

'SPLENDID' NEW ALGARVE RESORT

We were delighted to hear from long-term Seasons members Ann, John and Leslie Brigham of Chesterfield how impressed they were with Seasons Select Resort in Portugal. Indeed, they enjoyed themselves so much that they have already booked for next year! How’s that for positive thinking?

ANOTHER BRILLIANT CORNISH HOLIDAY
Dave and Ann Roberts from Cardiff have been off on their travels again, this time to pay a second visit to Seasons superb resort in Cornwall. They certainly sound as if they had an entertaining time.

GOOD NEWS ON MANAGEMENT FEES
| Seasons Holidays Plc has reached an agreement with SOCC (Seasons Owners Consultative Committee) that there will be no increase in the Season Holidays management fees for 2010 invoice to Seasons Holidays Club Members. They will remain the same as for 2009. |
Group Marketing Director Leslie McCann pointed out: “Despite large increases from the utility companies and the fluctuating Euro rate over a period of time, Seasons Holidays management fees remain some of the most competitive, when compared to the rest of the holiday ownership industry. Especially when you consider that Seasons’ fees include all energy costs.”
50TH BIRTHDAY AT WHITBARROW
It was good to hear that Sue Hill from Hutton Le Hole, North Yorkshire and her friends and family all enjoyed their stay at Seasons Lake District resort – from toddlers to septuagenarians –and that her landmark birthday get-together was such a success!
UPDATE FROM WHITBARROW
Once again, General Manager Vaughan Kennedy has taken time out of his busy schedule to let us have the latest news from Whitbarrow Village, which he is confident will bring smiles to the faces of many of our members.

LIVING CLOSE TO CLOWANCE

As you know, all Seasons members are entitled to use any resort’s facilities if they are staying nearby or – as with John and Janet Cook – they live a short distance away.
MAKING THE MOST OF BATH
Christine Brunning and Keith Langford, from Shrewsbury in Shropshire, certainly spread their wings when they visited the County Hotel in Bath over the Bank Holiday.
BEWARE IBERIAN NIGHTMARE!
Sadly we have to report yet another scam company which has been contacting Seasons owners from the Costa del Sol, claiming to be able to sell their weeks. This one is called Iberian Dream Homes SL and we cannot advise our members strongly enough not to fall victim to such companies, which build up false expectations and end in disillusionment, often involving significant amounts of the victim’s money.
We understand that Iberian Dream Homes operates from Fuengirola, via a post office box in London. They use the address Suite 401, 302 Regent Street, London W1B 3HH, telephone number 08714268710, email: info@iberiandreamhome.com, and website: www.iberiandreamhome.com. The names of the contacts we are aware of are David Phillips and Charles Lee.
Please avoid any contact with these men and report any such contact to Membership Services on 01994 426000, so that we can pass on information to the Resort Development Organisation (previously Organisation for Timeshare in Europe), who can help expose their scam and put them out of business.
A number of owners have also been contacted by Mr Sandy Grey of the so-called Timeshare Consumers Association, which is not really an association at all. Sandy Grey's reputation was destroyed last year as a result of his lies while on trial in court. He is trying to prepare for his future retirement by forming action groups similar to the ITRA (International Timeshare Refund Action - associated with International Timeshare Resale Association), a group we warned readers about in last month’s newsletter. We hope they don’t contact you, but if they do – you know what to do! Details of the genuine industry body which liaises with government bodies and the industry is the Resort Developers Organisation (formerly OTE), details of which can be found at www.rdo.org and www.gotimeshare.org
For further information please also click here to refer to an associated article just published on gotimeshare.org.
Any consumers with a complaint about timeshare resale scammers or bogus holiday club operators should write to the OFT at: ScamBusters, Bogus Holiday Club Project, OFT, Fleetbank House, 2-6 Salisbury Square, London EC4Y 8JX.
