Conveniently located just
15 minutes drive from junction 40 of the M6 motorway,
halfway between Penrith and Keswick, is the peaceful
luxury resort of Whitbarrow Village. |
|
| |
 |
|
Its picturesque
location in the foothills of Blencathra Fell (popularly
known as 'Saddleback'), has helped make this resort one
of the Lake District's most popular resorts and as soon
as you arrive, you'll notice the warm, friendly atmosphere.
Yet the high standards of accommodation, facilities and
service ensure you and your family have evrything you
need to make the most of your holiday.
In converting an 18th century Cumbrian farm known as Whitbarrow Hall
in 1986, the original owners suceeded in retaining the unique local
character.
Over the years, the resort has grown to 104apartments as more of
the farm buildings, such as the old Coach House, the Piggery and
the Dutch Barn, have been tastefully restored and converted.
The cobbled, flagged 'village' street, overlooked by the clock tower,
runs between the converted stone farm buildings, with paths leading
off through pretty archways to flower-decked courtyards, each with
its own lawned area. |

The
attractive mix of four aprtment types - studio, one bedroom,
two bedroom and three bedroom - all come complete with
every modern comfort, yet the peaceful rural setting
and beautiful views ensure that the historic charm remains
for today's
visitors to enjoy. In fact, thanks to the age of the
original buildings, each aprtment has a character all
of it's own.
|
|
| You'll
find Whitbarrow village the ideal spot to completely
relax, with plenty of quiet little courtyards and
hideaways. Or if you prefer, with Ullswater just
five miles away, it makes the ideal centre from
which to explore the area. |
