Only
10 minutes drive from the town of Quepos and 20 minutes
from the famous Manuel Antonio National Park, the resort
is only a five minute shuttle boat ride from a secluded,
palm fringed beach. The national park is a must, with
orchids, butterflies , snakes, birds, sloths and monkeys,
plus two of the best local beaches inside the park
and one outside. The most interesting way to see the
park is with a tour guide in the early morning. On
a clear day, you can see both the Caribbean and the
Pacific from the top of the 11,000 foot Irazu Volcano,
while Poas Volcano, and the capital, San Jose, are
both well worth a visit.
Car rental (ideally 4 wheel drive) is strongly recommended to make
the most of your visit. Taxis are available in Quepos, where you’ll
find restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy, post office, banks and
shops. There is also a small casino and a couple of discos, along
with plenty of atmospheric local bars.
