The dramatic
setting for this cosy, typically Tyrolean hotel is right
opposite the magnificent Wild Emperor mountains, in the
Alpine region of Kitzbuhel, one hour from Munich, Salzburg
and
Innsbruck. In front of the hotel is a chair lift, leading
to every skier’s dream world, plus a ‘babylift’ for
little skiers.
The resort, in
the pretty village of Going, enjoys spectacular views
all year round. In summer, apart from swimming in one
of the Tyrol’s most picturesque lakes, the area
is a paradise for hikers, horseback riders and cyclists
of all ages.
Further afield, the quaint medieval town
of Kitzbuhel – one of Austria’s most famous
ski resorts - is a fascinating place to explore in any
season and its Alpine flower garden (1,880m) is well
worth a visit by cable car. Favourite local excursions
are to King Ludwig’s Palace and Lake Chiemsee.
