Burn Park, Bude, Cornwall
The first thing you notice about Burn Park when you arrive is the wide open spaces -and the peace. Strolling along its pathways is just like walking through your own private holiday village, with nothing to disturb the rural peace and tranquility.

Set in 45 acres of delightful North Cornwall countryside, close to Bude Bay, Burn Park features a wide range of indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, including a friendly restaurant and bar, and is in an ideal position to explore all the delights of the north coasts of Cornwall and Devon.

The village of Stratton is half a mile away, and its twin town, the lively seaside resort of Bude is 5 minutes drive. The resort is on the perimeter of the Bude and North Cornwall 18 hole golf course, which offers the more energetic alternative of a lovely 15 minute walk into town.

Bude is popular with locals and visitors alike, with lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and one very special feature - the 19th century canal, which is now used for boating and fishing. Along its banks are tea rooms and an art and craft gallery, with pretty walks to the breakwater, or to the lookout tower on the clifftop, with its wonderful ocean views.

Since the initial conversion during the 1980’s from the original 200 year-old farm buildings, the holiday village has grown steadily, while retaining its essential character. All of the 34 luxury cottages and apartments have been individually designed to blend in with the natural surroundings, and are constructed from traditional Cornish building materials. within its own well-landscaped area, with each unit enjoying a high degree of privacy from its neighbours.

At the heart of the village is the leisure centre, restaurant and bar. The friendly reception staff are there to answer queries and advise on exploring the beauties of the local coast and countryside. Burn Park has every comfort and convenience and an enviable range of facilities, including:

    Exploring the area
Burn Park is in a perfect position to explore the surrounding countryside, being in Cornwall, yet close to the border with Devon and its outstanding north coast and moorland. Favourite beaches with visitors are Widemouth Bay (good surf ), with Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches both within easy walking distance of Bude, and Duckpool, an unspoilt cove set in a delightful wooded valley owned by the National Trust.

If you enjoy exploring, you’ll be spoilt for choice as to where to visit each day! Should it be the world-famous village of Clovelly, with its steeply cobbled main street leading to a 14th century quay? Or Boscastle harbour, a quaint olde-worlde fishing town? Or just along the coast, how about the eerie remains of King
Arthur’s castle at Tintagel? Only five miles from Bude are the Tamar Lakes, and the lovely Roadford Reservoir lies between Okehampton and Launceston.

Further to the west, of course, there’s the whole of Cornwall just waiting to prove to you that nothing beats English coastal scenery, and a day or two devoted to exploring this unique county and perhaps its wonderful gardens, is a tempting prospect! For instance, be sure to visit Polperro fishing village, complete with museum, shops, pubs and famous smugglers’ cove. Never forget that both Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks are within easy driving distance of Burn Park, each with a character all its own.

Then, for the children, there are all the joys of Brocklands fun park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep, to name but a few attractions.
